All-Party Parliamentary Group on Children in Police Custody

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Children in Police Custody has now disbanded, as of 3rd April 2026.

The APPG on Children in Police Custody was a cross-party group of MPs and Members of the House of Lords who worked together to raise awareness of the experiences of children in police custody and to develop recommendations for ensuring that children’s rights are respected and upheld in that setting.

On 2nd July the APPG launched two reports arising from their Inquiry into Achieving the Rights of Children in Police Custody.

Although the Group no longer exists, the findings from the Group’s Inquiry into Achieving the Rights of Children in Police Custody continue to be highly relevant and the recommendations in the reports are being actively pursued at both policy and practice levels.
